They were unable to control that small city of 4 KMS. They used this chemical weapon to kill the innocent people to get the control of city. US is the country which is against checmical and weapons of mass destruction but do not hesitate to use them for their own advantage.
Here is the proof.
US troops used white phosphorus as a weapon in last year's offensive in the Iraqi city of Falluja, the US has said.
"It was used as an incendiary weapon against enemy combatants," spokesman Lt Col Barry Venable told the BBC - though not against civilians, he said.
The US had earlier said the substance - which can cause burning of the flesh - had been used only for illumination.
BBC defence correspondent Paul Wood says having to retract its denial is a public relations disaster for the US.
Col Venable denied that white phosphorous constituted a banned chemical weapon. BBC

I desire I knew why. My husband became in Iraq with the military on the prompt. They tried to keep that info from each and every individual which incorporates him yet Im happy we may be able to ascertain the reality at circumstances. it isn't basic to win the hearts and minds of Iraq when we do such issues as that. I desire human beings may open their minds as to what we are quite doing and the way it truly is starting to be better hatred for u.s.. all of us pick to assist Iraq be triumphant, if do not inspect reality we may be able to under no circumstances carefully examine the authentic challenge and attempt to make it better. keep attempting to get the be conscious out. moms, dads, little boys and females were killed by technique of this, we owe it to them to: take it heavily, wrestle to provide up it, and get solutions.

the u.s. military follows the orders of the elected officials of the u.s. population therefore it is the voting population who is responsable for the actions of the u.s. military not the u.s. military itself. as to why they would use white phosphorous the answer is that it is effective. i'm quite sure that the u.s. military has no intention of harming innocent civilians but it seems their enemies fight their battles with exactly that intention which would explain why this enemy must be destroyed and why white phosphorous would be used.

My heart bleeds. I care so much! Look...see how much I care?
If we simply wanted to kill people, a spread of half a dozen medium-yeild thermonuclear weapons detonated above that particular city would boost the body-count far more efficiently without risking American lives.

Civilian casualties, unfortunately, are apart of war. Go scrutinize the extremists why they have to run into a crowded area with a bomb strapped to them if you want to demean people.
