I am sort of in the same shoes as you. My so called "best friend" I was there for her through thick and thin and then she found a boyfriend and that was the end of that. But you have to understand that this is life and nobody is perfect. Is it guaranteed that you'll never be hurt again........maybe not but you just have to go with an open mind or else you'll also miss the genuine people. All i can suggest (and i am taking the same suggestion) is give people a chance until they have proven otherwise.

I think youwould be able to it will take sometime but you will again.I can relate to you because I moved 2 states way to be closer to my family and my cousin was always my best friend and I did not know anyone here and she does and did and she did something to me that has changed our friendship so we are not close and I do not think we will again like we use to so now I have no friends or best friends so I can understand your hurt and it is hard but things will work out for you, you just need time. God Bless and if you need to talk more just let me know I'm a great listener .

That happened to me too. I had a best friend but she totally left me and then I wasn't able to call someone my best friend ever since now. I have two best friends and they're the greatest ever! If I can make new best friends so could you, so just try trusting people again. You never know, right?

All my friends are bestfriends. If you were betrayed by someone he/she was not really a friend, right? So you didnt lose much.
Be careful of those people you call friends, because most of them will be nowhere around when times are tough. They will love you only when things are good. I know many people and have fun with them, but I only consider a few of them real friends.
Dont search for a best friend, find real friends.

before answering that question. there is a question that is at hand first. have you forgiven the friend that betrade you. if not then it would be wize to wait other wize you will not trust the new friend and that will make for a friendship with a bad founddation.

never had one. I have a group of acquaintances that I hang out with, but no best friends. I think the premise is a younger generation idea. There are a lot of people who don't really have a "best friend". Maybe I'm not likeable? Possibility. Never had one though.

been there done that. i've learned that u can't trust anyone. ppl always seem to stab u in the back. it's life sadly. those who have found true friends are the luckiest people ever. anyhow, i think its time you move on. it's been 6yrs, i'm sure u have better things to think about than that

I no longer have any best friends. I had several throughout life. Now I am married and my husband is my best friend. As you go through life you go through a lot of friends. It is not necessary to always have a best friend. I am fine without one.

I was hurt by my best friend and it was a misunderstanding that kept us apart for 1 year. Make sure it's not a misunderstaning and go forward from there.
