If I had to guess, it sounds like a hard disk or hard disk controller is failing.
This could also be a thermal issue, whereas the hard disk fails when the unit becomes warm.
Also, try removing and re-inserting the hard disk just in case the connection is loose.
The only other thing I can think of that might be causing this is if the power controller to the hard disk is failing, or if you are getting bad sectors in track 0 on the hard disk. Some drives may when hot go slightly out of alignment and be unable to read, but that goes back to what I was saying earlier.

If you have a disc in the disc drive already, it may be assuming that it is the system disc at first, then realizes it isn't. So at that point it thinks you are trying to restore your system and asks for the system disk. Either that or your pc is starting to become hosed.

The computer is screwed. You are getting a reboot upon error and it is not coming up correctly.

Here is what I would do.

1. Test Harddrive. Click "start" click "run" type "cmd" hit enter.
2. In the dos box type chkdisk /f will have you reboot.
3. Reboot
4. Watch for errors, if none come up you have something else dying in the computer. Repost here if more information is needed.

Since it needs the system disk after it restarts, its the harddrive and the windows software thats corrupted.

Reinstall Windows or if you have a Ghost image, Ghost it, if that doesn't work...get a new harddrive. Most likely its your Windows thats corrupted.

Maybe you have a virus (either that, or you need a new computer). Download some virus scanning software like "Webroot". Most of them have a free trial period.
