"Minons"? That's the word used for boot-licking servants.
Something like people who chase the stock market and worship at the bank doors. Hmm, minions seems a better word for GOP legislators, eh?
People who earn minimum wage today include many hundreds of thousands of people who once had high-paying jobs - before the Reagan-bush economic restructuring destroyed their jobs and their hopes.
According to the latest polls, these people intend to vote in big numbers this Fall - for candidates who intend to raise the minimum wage and launch a new re-structuring of the economy to return decent wage jobs to the American marketplace.
You bet your bippy those candidates won't be Republicans.

Just a vicious cycle of economy and the job market. As long as there is work someone will always have to work for minimum wage. If you dont want to work, you can try to be homeless and sit at Wal-Mart with your sign and bucket. I think some of them make better wages than the ones in the store working.

miminum wage is for teenagers. Get an education or learn a trade and better your self. What ever you are making you are being paid exactly what you are worth meaning that if you stay at a minimum wage job then that is all you think you are worth.

It's not that they don't stand up for themselves it just they have no reason to. Some maybe illegal, some are just high school kids, some are just college kids working their way through. I mean you have to gain experience somewhere. You can't be a college sophmore and expect to get paid 11 an hour.

Because, they'll get fired and then they'll have to resort to picking strawberries in the field for half the minimum wage.

maximum people all began operating for minimum salary, even as i began operating at 17, the minimum salary replaced into $a million.60 an hour. i imagine people both ignore what it replaced into like, or they were handed a job after mommie and daddy paid for faculty.

They can't risk to lose their jobs. It's their only source of income and they need to support themselves and maybe even a family. There's no use arguing because people have been trying for years and still to no avail.

I'm sure they would if they had any self respect but they don't so they just keep working for little $$$$ instead of doing something real with their lives

They don't have the time or energy---if they're always working just to survive.
Plus, I'm sure many people think that no one will listen to them--that they can't change anything.
