Baseball has a long history of giving the rookie of the year award to a guy on a winning team unless there is someone who has posted ridiculous numbers. I don't see the Twins in the playoffs and Liriano will not have enough starts to make his stats look overwhelming; so I do not think he will win.

Verlander and Papelbon are the 2 main guys. Papelbon is below a 1.00 ERA and has been a stud. Verlander has good numbers too, but I think Papelbon wins this award as he will finish with 40+ saves and an ERA below 1.50.

NL: Fielder and Uggla are the front runners. The major category Fielder leads in is HR's (only by 3). Uggla is ahead in R, H, RBI, AVG, OBP, SLG.
And there really isn't a solid rookie playing on the Mets or Cards. I do like Ethier from the Dodgers but I don't know if his numbers can catch up to Uggla's. IF the Dodgers make the playoffs (I think they will) and Andre keeps his numbers somewhat solid he will win. But I think that is too many ifs.

Uggla will win this as the Marlins and their 15 million dollar payroll play pretty damn good baseball with the talent available.

Dan Uggla in the National League....J. Papelbon in the American League. Look at Uggla's stats - they're head and shoulders above any other rookie stats. And how many games has Papelbon saved?

In the NL, my vote would go to Andre Ethier of LA, hitting .350 to lead all rookies. What a steal he was from the A's!!

I'm assuming baseball where this is the baseball section....dumbass. I'm going with Fransico Lauriano (Minnesota Twins) in the American League. National League is up in the air....when it's all said and done, probably Prince Fielder.

when bobby crosby can hit .239 and win the award, and angel berroa can win and be such a terrible player, I don't ****** care because whoever is chosen will be the wrong guy for the award.
