I need something that will fit around my current BA that I'm doing. So I can't work full time

Contact some of the independent care homes/day centres and ask them if they have any vacancies that will fit in around your studies, tell them what you are studying and why you need the experience.

What ever you do, do NOT go to work for any of the local councils in your area. I spent 7 years working for one of the Social Services Departments in my area, ALL the staff (with the exception of the Director, his 4 assistants and their secretaries) where grossly overworked and under paid - it was deamed normal to work in excess of 80 hours a week and only be paid for 37 hours - and that was if you were lucky.

Why don't you go to your local social services and see if they have any Social Work assistant, or Care Managers posts. depending on where you are, CMs can be unqualified.

Also you can work for a provider of support services, such as learning disability supported living or residential homes, day services for ppl with different social needs. 2 years is long enough to have worked in a couple of places.

I think you should try and work in adult services as well as children's services to give you a range of experiences

Good luck, I am currently doing my degree in SW
