A war in its typical sense needs aggression, however a cold war does not. Also, it kinda depends on what you mean by war? Is a chess game a war? Are mind games a type of war?

Better example, lets say a war between two people...they constantly have physical fights. One attacks the other, the other moves out of the way and the attacker trips and falls. Did one fighter not just win the battle without aggression? Does winning enough battles constitute a war?

I'd say that its possible to win a war without aggression...but there needs to be aggression on at least one side.

The definition of war is :

A state of open, armed, often prolonged conflict carried on between nations, states, or parties.
The period of such conflict.
The techniques and procedures of war; military science.

A condition of active antagonism or contention: a war of words; a price war.
A concerted effort or campaign to combat or put an end to something considered injurious: the war against acid rain.

Since the raw definition of war includes the term conflict, which would indicate two or more opposing parties, I'd say that all war involves some level of aggression....

War is born out of aggression and conflict. No such thing as a peaceful war.

I don't believe so, war is fueled by anger and trying to control land, God tries to tell us that controlling land and money does not get us to heaven, Jesus Christ is the only way and we should be sharing the gospel and helping others not being out for gain, we will have everything we need when we turn to God.
