Sit him down one day and talk to him. Tell him nicely that u r not ready to have a relationship yet b/c your not ready for a commitment with anyone at the present time but when u r ready make sure that u hit him up. Tell dont wait everyday near the phone b/c stuff like that dont happen overnight.

Very sweetly let him down without crushing his self esteem. Let him know that you are not ready for a serious relationship right now. Then (if you feel you may want a serious relationship with this guy later on), tell him that maybe at a later point you will be. If you know you will never want a serious relationship with him then let him know that as well, just be honest with him and be very sweet to him when doing it. Seems he really has his heart tied up into you!

if you don't love him back.... it's not good for you to continue to receive gifts/attention from him.. if you really think he is great guy and has good intentions, but just don't like him "that way", perhaps the best thing u can do for now is put some distance between u guys for awhile. tell him he's a great guy, but you're not ready...and if you're not right for each other, you don't want to lead him on!!! trying to be his friend is not a good idea, cuz it's going to be harder for him to get over you (ie, the nicer you are to him..the more he'll like you!! he can't help it!!) which is why most guys and girls can't be friends.. once one person has feelings for the other, it's almost impossible to go backwards to "just friends".

Talk to the guy b/c if you and him are still together then that kind of means you kind of still do have feelings for him and still love him but I mean talk to him and you dont want to lead him on b/c then you'll end of lying to yourself and him and then the truth will come out and then you won't be able to be friends anymore and you want a guy friend who you can turn to when all your other friends who are girls are like talking to you just need that shoulder to lean on Just talk to him and tell him how you feel it will turn out alright

This is tricky but there is a solution. Do not take his presents and do not go on dates with him. Tell him you have an eye for another man. However, be nice and you two can be good friends instead.

Do both of you a favor. Be honest. After a while the guilt will get to you n allowing it to continue will only lead him on. That brings no good to either of you. You can find someone whom you can really like with the time spent on him.

tell him you're flattered, but you just aren't looking for a relationship at the moment, but you'll let him know when you are. and stay good friends if you think you'll want to date him later on.
