yes there is a difference diesel is more heavly taxed then gas because of semis that is because we use the highways more then most people do and we do more damage to a road over time then just cars would . the diesel a semi uses id called on-road diesel and diesel farm and heavy equipment uses is called off-road diesel

YESA... because they are different classes of fuel. There is also a difference between fuels for off-road use and marine use..
