most doctors say by 18 if your not sexually active. but it's always a good idea to have one when your at least 16 or when you think there may be something wrong

It is usually 18-21 or when you first become sexually active. You might also want to consider getting the new vaccine for Human papilloma virus (HPV). That's what a Pap smear tests for. It is the cause of cervical cancer in about 90% cases.

Even if you are still a virgin, you should start getting paps around 18 or if you see problems, earlier to make sure you are ok. You can get cervical cancer and other problems as a virgin. Also the exam should check from breast cancer.

Probably when you leave pediatrics at 18. Whether you're sexually active or not, you should have one starting then to make sure everything is ok. It is still possible to have female issues without being sexually active.

i had my frist one when i was 16. but only cause i was sexually active. my sister who was not didnt get one till she was 18 cause the gyno said she should even tho she didnt have sex
