In a nutshell...CO2 is the driving force behind each breath we take when the lungs fill up with O2 the lungs filter it leaving behind the CO2. A message is sent thru the autonomic nervous system instructing our brain to exhale...then inhale...and repeat.. The atmospheric air is composed of about 21% Oxygen that we need as well as other elements such as Nitrogen and Carbon that make up the rest. Have a fun weekend!
