It is a public computer and I want to make sure that no one can see what I was looking at in fear of identity theft.

Go to

tools

internet options

click on delete cookies then hit ok

click on delete files, and also check the box and then hit ok

this click on "clear history" then click yes.

Set history at 0 if you can. This will clear all items you were browsing.

Use a software like History Kill; or just delete the history manually each time:

IE > Tools > Internet Options > Clear history - delete files - delete cookies ; then go to the "Contents" tab & hit clear forms - clear passwords.

But the Y! IDs will remain there, you must delete them from the 'profiles' folder in the folder you've installed your Y! messenger + delete them from the windows registery via "start menu > run . regedit " then search for the ID & delete the keys.

IE 7.0, had this option, not sure about the previous versions.

Tools>Internet Options Go to General Tab, select settings for deleete and check the desired radio button.
