I don't much of a reason why you shouldn't. Basically there may be more chemestry on the relationship side than on the friendship side. Trying it for a while will not hurt much, do however becareful , and respect your best friend. If things don't work out, at the minute you notice it, stop what you're doing and go back to your friendship side and be good friends.

They say that you will marry your best friend. If the chemistry is there--absolutely.

it can be harmful because it can change the psychology of your friend about you and vice versa
but if you have full confidence on yourself and on your friend then it can be good
but i seriously dont recomend that
