people are saying that is to bad to live in but did you see it before , it was always trashed . they need to go home , 1 year of us taking care of them is enough time to get back on your feet . If anybody disagrees that a year isn't enough they are the definition of lazy

Many would love to - but for a variety of reasons they can't. There are still many places there that are still trashed. Homes have been demolished. Electricity and water is not available to all the places that had them before. Many neighborhoods may not be rebuilt. They estimate that as much as 33 - 50 % of the population may never come back - but relocate elsewhere. These are not good times for these people. If you can help out, please do so.

Because much of the city, particularly the poor areas have not been rebuilt yet. There are still entire neighborhoods that are ravaged. Additionally, many companies have not been able to re-open for the same reason so there is also a lack of work for some people.
Here is a slide show of pictures taken almost one year following the hurricane:

The government is still paying them and what they have is better than they had before. I deal with people fom New Orleans all the time and there are plenty of places that are open and ready for people but they just can't get people to come back. Places like McDonald's are willing to pay signing bonuses but they can't get people to come home.
Stop all aid and they will go back.

Because their homes aren't there anymore. Perhaps you can tune your TV to CNN or read a newspaper? Hey - I know - check on the internet! They have lots of information some call "News" there.

I wish they would, our apartment complex is overrun by them and it is starting to look like New Orleans anyway, freaking trash everywhere, not all of the evacuees are trashy, but the ones that live in my complex sure are.
