how do you become a psychologist?

also how long do you have to go to school?
how do you have your own practice?
can you be one for like movie starts? how?

You have to study psychology as a major in college. Then, you'll have to go to school for at least another 4 years for your PhD. You want to start off under someone elses practice first. Once you have money saved up and you've got the practice done and feel comfortable starting up your own business, then open up your own. To be one for the movie stars, I suppose you have to move on up the social chain. Make yourself known and handle high-paying clients.

When you say LA, do you mean Los Angeles or Louisiana. I can give you salary ranges if you specify.

Bachelors degree takes 4 years full time.
Masters degree takes 2 years full time.
Doctoral degree takes about 4 years including dissertation

Or after your bachelors, you go to a school that allows you to complete master and doctorate level work.

You need a PhD to be a psychologist.

There are so many fields of psychology but to have your own practice you need a PhD which is around 4-5 years on top of an undergrad degree.
