the marriott on the mag mile is just OK...it is slightly overated if u ask me and my family (we have someone in the family who works for marriott and we only stay at all of their properties!).....love renaissiance, both courtyards (one is only like 2 yrs. old)....but they're all $$$$ (300 +unless u get the discount like we do) SO, u might want to try the fairfield inn...before you say NO hear me out!! it is not like the fairfield inns that most people think of.....u can see it online...https://marriott.com/search/citySearchResults.mi?page=1
or u can try the holiday inn...been there as well.....http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/h/d/hi/1/en/availsearch?errorURL=/h/d/hi/1/en/advancedsearch&availCheckCaching=n&_requestid=1705717
there are some other nice choices/deals on the 877-chicago website........the doubletree is nice,, and the homewood suites...there are several that i have not been to here, but i would be willing to try.....check them out

(this is all assuming that when u say nothing too expensive that u mean in the no more than 280ish range)

A lot would depend on that basic statement that you made(nothing too expensive), but at the same time on the Miracle Mile. With that in mind, some basic issues you may want to ponder are(I am Owner of a Travel Agency):
1-The maximum per night rate for a Hotel room you're willing to pay
2-Checkin/checkout dates?(Important as it will affect availability and pricing)
3-How many going?
Minor stuff but still important as availalability and cost will be affected somewhat. That doesn't mean that nothing is available, just that those factors will determine what's available. If you could kindly either call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me through Yahoo Messenger with your criteria, we can see what's available on the Mile that's within your budget and timeline.

If you have GOBS of cash, the Peninsula is supposedly the top hotel in Chicago. It is where former President Clinton stayed for his book signing, and it is where Jennifer Anniston stays when she is in town. It is one block off of the Magnificent Mile at the corner of Rush and Superior. VERY NICE!!!

Are you driving, or flying? Another thing to consider is that you have to pay for parking when staying in that area, and it's expensive. You'll pay $35-$40 per night for parking.
I stayed at the Omni Hotel at Huron and Michigan Ave., and it was FANTASTIC. All the rooms are suites, and it was quiet and relaxing.

Marriott is not too bad--rooms are a little small but I think you can get a good deal.
