The name Corky is a genetic condition that has no known cure. The poor little Corkys have no choice but to suffer through life as the butt of cruel jokes and to be beat up regularly by playground bullies. As adults they tend to go into professions like bartenders and auto lube technicians.

Well, a male child being named Corky is caused by a mommy and a daddy with very normal names who want their son's name to stand out. Then they name the son Corky, not realizing that the child's life will now be filled with 3.7 million jerks who all have to make a stupid joke about the kid's name rhyming with "Porky," "Dorky," and "Forky."

I have a theory that baby names that suddenly become popular out of nowhere are because of an actor or other public figure.
There was a Corky on a tv show in the 80's. There was a Jennifer in the movie 'Love Story' in the early 70's. There's Michael Jordan in the 90's (i.e. lots of girl babies named Jordan).

May be the parents named him that or it's a nickname.
Corky could be short for something.
Maybe the kid is a goof or clumsy .
The kid may be quirky a close 2nd to corky.

Otherwise the parents were just really tired when they named their kid. Of course, Barron, Apple, and Suri are not much better.
