The college democrats are very opinionated on my campus, but barely do anything. For instance, if there is an opportunity to do a fundraiser, the democrats will complain and criticisize the republicans for how they are doing theirs, but won't do one for themselves at all.

And this isn't only my college, but at my sisters as well.

I'm unaffiliated because I don't know too much about it. But I've noticed this trend and others that I know have too. They have plenty of ideas, so why won't they act on them?

Welcome to the world of reality. Does your situation not mirror what is going on in Washington these past years. The Democrats complain again and again about things - but have to real answer or solution on what they would to to correct things or make them better. It is easy to criticize or conduct "Monday Morning Quarterbacking" - hindsight is wonderful. But can any Democrat give a viable solution to high oil prices, to our dependence on foreign oil, how to better handle the war in Irag (and cut and run is not on the table).

There are many ultra-liberal professors on our campuses and many young people are fed with ultra-liberal ideology. It won't be until they get out in the real world where they will learn those frequently cited slogans and text-book answers are not a realistic way to approach many problems and day-to-day dealings.

Well if I can sum it up clearly the Republicans actually do things rather than sitting and complaining even if they are unhappy with something.

For instance many are not Happy with the Illegal Immigration thing but instead of just sitting there Republicans including myself are supporting the Minutement who have taken matters into their own Hands until the Govt starts to take action.

Some are either joining the Minutemen and/or are involved in building a Wall to fight the Illegal Immigrants or some like me are donating to the cause.

Heck when Hurricane Katrina happened and loads of Democrats chose to express hatred for Bush rather than actually getting involved in Helping I had to ask myself "ok while you guys are complaining that Bush is doing nothing when in reality he is doing everything he can, what are you guys doing to help, why not actually help rather than waste energy complaining about what Bush should be doing."

My Mom supports the Democrats herself and can't seem to understand why I support the Republicans since I am Autistic and according to the mentality of Democrats only the Democrats care for the Disabled which I know is a total lie.

In fact the member of Congress that has done the most for Autism causes is Congressman Dan Burton of Indiana who has a Grandson with Autism, Dan Burton is a Republican although because of his work for Autism he has siphoned votes off Democrats who normally would not vote for a Republican but are willing to make an exception for Dan Burton.

Not to mention there happens to in fact be a Joint Senate/Congressional Bipartisan Autism Caucus and sicne it is a Caucus and not a Committee Chairpersons can be of any Party but in this cause the Autism Caucus has 2 Co-Chairman, 1 Republican and 1 Democrat (both Co-Chairpersons have spoken respectfully of each other too).

In an argument with my Mom when she complained about this or that I told her "hey I write letters to my Elected Officials, maybe you should too."

And she expressed about the fact she votes but I was like well why doesn't she also write to Elected Officials if she wants to complain, why not complain to them instead of me.

I even gave her a list of Addresses of State and Federal Officials including even Majority and Minority Leaders.

Wow..interesting...the dems at my college were great. Did a lot of community stuff and participated in a lot of politcal volunteer work. Sorry it's different where you're from. Glad you didn't call all college dems idiots although i'm sure some on here will do it for you.
