I think it is far more cool to have philosophy and/or a vision of what government should do and be. Then find whatever party that follows this vision. All parties need representation of all visions and philosophies. Perhaps you should seek the Greek ideal of the "Golden Mean", a moderate view of everything. This will make your choice of parties more difficult though because they all seem to have moved away from moderation, becoming depostories for idealogues of both extremes.
Maybe we need a new party of moderates.

Neither is cool to be....actually, it's not good to be any type of politician nor is any kind of politician 'fit' for the country and that's because they are all these wealthy individuals that have never had to work for anything in their life (with a few exceptions) that are making laws for districts, states, etc. and have never been in a sour situation in their entire life and will never be in one. So how can they make laws for we, the people and they don't even know what it's like?

How can it be "cool" to wage war in Iraq with thousands killed since it began with no strategy for getting out and insurgents taking over?

How can it be "cool" to have screwed up Medicare so badly that senior citizens have no idea what plan they have and if the one they have selected serves them best?

How can it be "cool" to give tax breaks to the idle rich while passing on the cost of that little gift to the dwindling middle class and poor?

How can it be "cool" to refuse to sign the Voting Rights Act when we have Black men and women fighting and dying in Iraq to bring the right to vote to the Iraqi people?

How can it be "cool" to not fund No Child Left Behind?

How can it be "cool" to dangle anti-abortion laws to the religious right to get them to vote for you?

How can it be "cool" to still have the victims of Katrina still without homes or jobs and not know where there friends and family are?

I could go on but you get the idea. The entire Bush administration and all of the republicans that refuse to stand up against this insanity should be barred from holding public office again.

Well, my stats have shown the economy to be in better shape with a democrat at the helm. I know I have a better budget and it seems that more gets done for the working class. Thats my opinion, and everyone has one.

a country with one type of people would be a horrible place to live. just feel lucky we are more diverse (although, not as much as i'd like) than that.

i think it depends on your beliefs, and i don't think people should vote for someone just because they are in the same political party as you. You should know the facts and what they stand for before you vote for them.
