For RPG's online and one person - immersing yourself in a different world, being a different person, etc.

For sim games - the ability to build and control a world for you people

for shooter games - competing with your friends/family/prior record

i play world of warcraft, i like it cause i can interact with friends from other states and not have a high phone biil, and when I'm mad at my guy i can go kill things without killing him.
