Doesn't to me at all. I much rather watch excitement than the World Diving Cup where scoring and action goes to die. The fans are great to watch but the play on the pitch sucks in 2006. Give me 1982 World Cup style of play and maybe I'd be inclined to partially agree with you.

You get your sport on the worldwide telly one time every 4 years and you use that opportunity to dis americans - I think american networks only broadcast it so we will sit around and wonder what the hell makes a 90 minute scoreless slap fight so interesting to the rest of the world. No winner , nothing accomplished, nothing determined, nothing gained , no progress - JUST NOTHING. Its about like hockey BUT at least in hockey you can bump into people. Red card on you DA - you're outta here!

Because american sports are dumb like the NHL and MLB. The world cup is a great event because it brings 32 different countries together to unite as one and compete for glory.

Maybe because much of what America stands for is watered down by commercialism and capitalism. All you hear about athletes over here is "How much they are worth" and "How much their contract is for". The money hype has blinded many people as to what the sport really is for. The WWE has more athletes that are more for the sport than many other sporting associations do.

That really is odd.
While watching some of the World Cup I was thinking the exact opposite.
To each his own I guess.

You've got the question backwards.
And talk about sissies... jeez, you touch a soccer player and he goes sprawling to the ground as though every tendon in their body just exploded... they get carried off on a stretcher, and three minutes later, they're right back out on the field as if nothing happened (actually, nothing DID happen)
Wusses!

I do not know where you are from........
But I just can't get into a game where there is 89minutes and 59 seconds of chasing a ball up and down the field and 1 second of scoring........
oh and dont forget those celebrations that make the game last longer.......
these guys who play soccer don't know how to act after they score because they don't score very often.........
