That depends on what you consider fast and how much you want to lose.
Eat lots of vegetables and fruits instead of higher calorie alternatives. Drink lots of water and exercise alot
Trade off ingredients in your recipes for lower calorie substitutes.
(the whole family can lose weight with you).
Don't get discouraged and throw in the towel when you hit a plateau. Notice and be motivated by other things - compliments you're getting, clothes fit you better, you feel better, etc.
It doesn't happen overnight or even over several weeks. Hoping for the "quick fix" can be self defeating and you end up right where you started. And it's possible you gain back more than when you started.
Set attainable goals but ones you still have to work at to get to. Take it slow and steady and you'll lose the weight. Perserverence pays off.
If you can find a diet buddy, that helps. You can pat each other on the back and say "that's great" when each loses or support each other when things aren't going well. That's what's so great about weight loss centers where they have meetings. You're all there for 1 purpose and you trade support - good and bad. You even get some good low calorie recipes that people have found.

It depends on how unhealthy you are. If you're overweight, then you should probably lay off the sweets, such as soda, and probably carbs. Drink lots of water...and definitely exercise. Cardio is great! Go for a brisk walk, or walk on the elliptical, or run. And if you add weights to your routine, that will help you burn calories after you're done working out. Also, try taking the stairs instead of using the elevator. Oh yeah, no fried food. If you like fried chicken, try baked chicken, if you like fried fish try baked fish. If you eat out, get a chicken sandwich with no mayo, no burgers.

Drink alot of water and eat more fruits and veggtables. Drink 8 glasses of water and 2 fruits a day then you will loose 10 pound a weeks trust me it works

Eat less, work out more. Barring that, there's always the Cabbage Soup Diet. While your hips may thank you, your gastrointestinal tract may not agree.
