I did - After insurance, I had to pay $500.00 out of pocket. The hospital did a payment plan with me and gave me somewhere around 6 months to pay it off. So I was pretty happy about that b/c $500.00 was more than I was expecting to pay.
I had it done in Marietta Georgia at Kennestone Hospital.
It wasn't fun, but it wasn't as horrible as I expected.
They take you into an Xray room and you wear a paper gown. You lie on a metal table with your feet in stirrups. The guy has a tiny tube and he attaches a syringe to it. He feeds the tube into your uterus and slowly fills it up with Xray fluid. You can watch on the monitor to see the fluid filling up your uterus and your fallopian tubes. He scans you and then has to review the results. You won't get the results the same day... You'll have to wait a few days and get them from your dr.
It didn't hurt to have it done...I started cramping after the proceedure. You'll leak orange for awhile but they'll give you a pad for that.
An HSG is normally to see if your fallopian tubes are blocked - I suppose you are ttc? Good Luck and don't freak out...it won't hurt. *Though I was SO scared*

I live near Huntington, WV and the cost at our local fertility center is about 350 plus radiology fees which are about 200. Most insurance companies cover most or part.
