Hmmmm - always hard to tell without a picture. Try the first link, is that it? That's a caladium. I would describe it as green (light) and kinda black (maybe). Then there is the 2nd link, which is not, it is wild taro, or Elephan Ear, but is also "green and kinda black". Hope one of these is what you mean and it helps. Good luck!

It could be a Colocasia or Alocasia.

Sure they are safe. Just don't eat them. They are commonly used as decorative plants with little to no "safety" problems.

All plants have some safety risks. Some people are allergic to bananas. Does that mean we should get rid of all banana plants?
