Violent games are just that, games with violence. Put in the hands of slightly off balanced people (who are probably already prone to violence) you get sometimes violent results in the real world. In the hands of adults who have some grasp of reality they're just another form of entertainment, a way to relax or vent or just have some fun. The problem with some parents is they don't pay attention to the ratings, they're there for a reason. Just like I won't let my child watch an R rated movie or a movie I have no knowledge of, I also only let him play what I deem apropriate for his age (real age and mental/emotional age :P), and I can't do that without arming myself by knowing about what he's gonna be playing before he even sees the game case.
As long as a person has a sense of right and wrong, fantasy and reality, there is nothing wrong with playing games with violence.
And in regards to placing blame when bad things happen on game developers for creating violent games? IMO people need to take more responsibility & dish out the blame to where it belongs, to the individual, not the corporation. The creators didn't shell out the $50 to buy that game. The gamers did...and the parents of gamers (sometimes without even knowing or caring about the rating or content of the game). On the other hand I think retailers should be a little stricter when it comes to selling M rated games and not just care about the money being handed to them by children. That's what I think anyway. ^_^

Even though I know that violent games are bad for our future, I still find them entertaining. I do get a little nerved, though. I try and do something and then everybody is shooting at me. Then when I am dead, only then do I realize that my own heart is beating frantically and I need to see some comedy immediately to calm me down.

I think no games are violent a game is a game and I think we should enjoy them. I hate this stupid rating system its just wrong I think everyone should get to play all games no matter what

They're quite fun I find them entertaining. They really don't matter to the outside world because war and crimes are going on everyday in the world. Plus the graphcics of blood is quite facinating.
