I think stay at home moms are working, just not for the same wages as outside the home might bring. She is making so much more, by investing in the future of her children and this nation. Children are our most precious resource.

She was a stay at home mom when I was little then my dad lost his job and she was forced to work part time to make ends meet. They both are retired now. I have been a stay at home mom but think it would be okay to work part time while the kids are in school. I probably will have to now that I am separated from my husband and headed for a divorce soon. Its great to be there when they are little though and think its best if at all possible.

Even though my mom had a job when my sister and I were young, it didn't mean she wasn't there. When we were at school all day, she was at work all day, we spent the evenings and week ends together as a family. In no way did I or do I feel that she ever neglected us. She was a single mother and did a great job raising us. Now that we are mothers are selves...we feel her example of a strong, caring mother is the reason we became mothers.

my mom was at home, although she did try working for a while, but with 4 kids at that time it was better that she was at home, and quit. when i was a teenager and lived with my father after my parents were divorced, she started working, and is 68 and plans to retire on her birthday. she was a very hard worker, both in and out of the home.

my mom quit her job for seven years until my sis and i were of school age and then she returned to work. I am glad that she was able to do that. I hope that i will one day be able to do that, but also be a successful business woman.

when i was a kid, my mom stayed home, but she went back to work when I was 12. she is retired now.
i did like having her home when i was little, but I know it's much harder these days for someone to be a stay-at-home mom
