Yes, I think so. He would have scored on the last penalty goal. Instead of the nitwit who missed.
As a byline I think it's totally okay that he whooped the Italian's *** (sorry chest). You shouldn't insult people's momas. That's a one way ticket to the mortuary

Absolutely not....he didn't score (except for the non-existing penalty kick) during the first 113 minutes of the game,,,,,what makes you think he was going to score in the remaing 7 minutes? He is old and at that point getting tired......France only had an old Zidane whereas Italy had a power-house,,,,in the end the best team won!!!
FORZA ITALIA!!!!!

Yes, their chances would definitely have been higher...and even with the headbutt and loss of Zidane, France could have won - but spirits were low and Trezeguet lost the penalty kick, but regardless of that, France could have definitely beat Italy!

No. He was sent off only 10 minutes before the end. Although we don't know what would have happened if he had stayed, logically it doesn't make that big difference.
As for the shootout, he would have kicked one, but Trezeguet would have kicked his anyway. And if it was bound to hit the bar, no way, France would have lost anyway.

Even though it's a moot point now... I say no. Italy won because they played as a team... they didn't have to rely on only one player to win the game for them... they had a team of star players. Just look at the goals scored overall for Italy (12 goals by 10 players)... that is what won it for them.

no one can say whether france would have been victorious had zidane not been carded but they would have had a greater chance and zidane could have retired on top, as opposed to now having it surrounded by controversy...that being said...GO ITALY! :-)

I don't think so, because if Zidane had kicked the penalty that the other guy failed, they would have gone to sudden death penalties and maybe the first guy to kick the sudden death round would have been the guy that failed that penalty...

Probably, becuase unless Materazzi predicted that the game would go into penalty kicks, and so he provoked him, hoping that Zidane would over react and be sent off, that way, when they did go into penalty kicks, the French might not be so intimidating. Dunno. Becuase after all, it was that one french guy who didn't kick it in, and if that was Zidane, it would've went in. . . .

There might be... a slight... possibility.
Although, the French team would still be outnumbered by the Italians, due to their strong united front of quality players.
Anyway, the game's over and it's time to get back to your boring, mundane routine *sighs*
