My CV joints are banging on my Peugeot and I was wondering how much it usually costs to get sorted?

You only need to get whichever side is knocking sorted,

www.gsfcarparts.com is a good place for peugeot parts, the CV joint will cost you about £65 each. It' simple enough to fit, if you take it to a local mechanic or a friend they should be able to fit it within half an hour to an hour, Budget about £50 for Labour tops.

£120 should cover you for one side and fitting budget £200 if you need both sides sorted.

The CV joint could knock for the next 10 year and never let you down but you should get it sorted whenever budget allows, there's no major panic with them.

Constant velocity joints are usually reliable and largely trouble-free. The two main failures are wear and partial seizure.

Wear in the outer joint usually shows up as vibration at certain speeds, a bit like the vibration caused by an unbalanced wheel. To determine if the joint is worn, find a big empty car park and drive the car slowly in tight circles, left and right. Worn joints will make a rhythmic clicking or cracking noise. Wear in the inner joints shows up as a "clunk" when applying power, or if severe, when lifting off the throttle.

Suspension good mounts very hardly bypass incorrect, even if even as they do the failings to seek for are:- one million) once you turn the wheel there'll be a tell tail spring noise from the front of the motor vehicle. that is going to sound quite a lot like the boing Zebedee made on the magic roundabout. CV joints should be bought new from Peugeot, even if they're very extreme priced. My suggestion may be to look on eBay for a production unit refurbishedchronic shaft. i purchased 2 for a 306 at £38.00 each and each. Ja.

I just had my CV joints changed on my Nissan Primera and that cost me £100 each side! I would expect it to be cheaper being a smaller car and french spares are usually cheaper than japanese.

Got mine done for about £100 each side, but that was separately, maybe cheaper to get both done at once.
