On the 700 Club, "Rev." Pat Robertson stated that he ensured that Bush would support Israel, even though it was filled with evil Jewish people. He went on the explain that this was because Bush knew (via the good old Rev. $ himself) that the Bible states that in the end times Israel will be reestablished.

Is this why evangelical conservatives hate Jews but support Israel? So that Revalation will be fufilled?

Well if Pat Robertson said that, he contradicted himself. If he calls the Jews "evil," but then states that Israel will be reestablished, that's a contradiction!

Jews are not evil, and they aren't the arch enemies of Christianity. As well, Israel restored is a figurative concept. The Israelites once lived directly under God, under "theocracy." The "restoration of Israel" simply implies a restoration of theocracy, rule by God directly, but that will be worldwide next time. No entire race is evil to God. All have a chance at salvation.

As for Bush's support of Israel to parallel prophecy, if it is so Bush isn't consciously aware of it. To him it would just be a coincidence.

I don't think so and here's why. The only reason Bush is an evangelical, born again Christian is for political purposes. The evangelicals didn't support his Dad or Dole in large numbers and they lost. Bush is a fake Christian who used the religious right to garner votes. Once he's out of office W will rarely attend church. Remember, the guy lives in a world of lies and deception.

The only good news is that he's probably not for the apocalypse.

If you've been watching lately, you'll realize that Pat Robertson is fast becoming senile. Evangelical conservatives don't much listen to him anymore. Nowadays, he only serves as a foil for the left and for the press to have a field day with.

You basically have the answer.

You need to add a few ingredients to the soup.

People hate Jews (another promise of God thing found in the book of Isiah "You shall be hated of all men for my names sake")

The founding fathers started down a long slippery slop of supporting Jews because Jewish investors supported the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War.

There are some ingredients to this political soup that add subtle flavors.

I don't like GWB, but the US has supported Israel for over 50 years...You can't blame Bush for this one.
However, Pat Robertson is the biggest hypocrit in the world !! He says he's a Christian, but he call for the US to assasinate Venezuala's president ??? What's up with that ???

Better to support Israel then any of the Muslim countries that try to attack it. Because Israel, at least at the moment, isn't trying to take over and/or kill the US and all its citizens like the Muslims are.
