I've worked at this little pizzaria for about two months now and the subject has just never really come up. I'm not very feminine so I never get asked.

Is there a good way to tell people without wearing a giant "I'm gay" sign?

You could ask your friends at work to support you in an AIDS walk or ride charity event. You could put a subtle bumper sticker on your car. You could mention the "guy" you're going out with right now. You could do a lot of things, or you could just do nothing. If it doesn't come out, do they NEED to know?

There are tons of ideas on coming out on the Human Rights Campaign website, see below

Do you really need to tell them? Is it any of there business. You can exist in life and work without people having to be told. No one says you have to tell anyone.

If you feel the need to tell someone, start with your closest friends at work. However know most state, counties and cities do not have protection against being fired for being gay. Being fird for being gay has happened to me and many others. so chose wisely who you tell and make sure you don't suffer a firing.

i dont think you should come out an spill the beans. sometimes to the people that gay people tell it makes them feel as if they want to be special... but they want to be treated the same.

if anyone asks id be honest, but dont go flaunting it- your co workers may be turned off or offended.

i bet if they really know you, they already have figured it out.

are you really close friends with them? do you feel you HAVE to tell them? best to see in casual conversation their response/reaction to the subject.
fortunately, there are a couple other gay people in my office. my office is very racially mixed as well (white/black/latina) and we are all very open and accepting of each other.
I am very lucky to work with such a group of people.

Here is a web-site from the Human Rights Campaign that tells you how you can "come out" at work.

Do you really think that you need to tell them? As long as you're doing your job, what you do "off-the-clock" is your business.

why do you feel like you need to tell them? none of their business and they probably don't care. likely to cause more trouble.
