The biggest advantage of PCs over Macs is that more software is available for PCs than for Macs. If you're happy with the software that you can get for the Mac, and you don't mind paying the price, go ahead and get the Mac.

This is a classic argument and there is no definitive answer in most cases. For me, I am a PC user because I can build my own PC from scratch and get exatly what I want. You need to be technically apt to do this and it helps to enjoy it. That's a hardware thing. Cost is a definite benefit as you mentioned. From a software point of view, MAC OS vs. XP is not really worth fighting about, they are both capable and solid. Yes XP has more virus issues and such but it's not hard to avoid those problems and you can do for free. It is really down to personal preferance for the OS. As far as what you can do with a MAC or PC over the other, I don't see an advantage. They both have the same capabilities. Gaming however is in favor of the PC. Just depends on what you need it to do. For basic internet, Office, photo, video stuff. It's a draw! Don't know if that helped but that's my two cents...

Get the Mac, it'll be way easier to maintain and use. As for limited software, there aren't 50 different applications to do each task that you want to do, but all you need is ONE good one. In other words, a lot less bad software on the Mac platform, it doesn't survive in the Mac world.

Get the Mac, they last much longer (whereas PC's are obsolete in a year and you need to upgrade) Macs don't have the security flaws like WIndows, the Mac operating system is far more efficient, faster, and easier to use than Windows.

MAC vs. PC?
I have used both and more, including mainframes.
I would recommend MAC because it is different and harder for people to mess with your files when you are not looking.
Just kidding.
I like MAC because it is intuitive and designed for the coming environment.
My favorite is the G5 with the 30 inch screen.
Oh MAC's run PC software, so they can run anything.

If you are used to using Macs, and have no need for learning/converting to PC, then don't do it.
