I would wait for the 2007 model year. The 2007 element will have side curtain airbags, slightly more power, and a 5 speed automatic transmission (if you drive auto). The car will handle better, be slightly faster, and have improved fuel economy. The new Element should hit dealerships in 2-3 months.

I test drove an awd EX manual and was impressed with the handling. Since the front passengers sit fairly low, the driving is fairly carlike, and the interior packaging is pretty clever. Rear seat passengers sit high and you can fit skis under the rear seats without folding them up.

Fuel economy is better than virtually any SUV but not in Honda Civic or even Accord territory. Expect mpg to be in the low 20's overall. It's essentially a box moving a lot of air around. There's also a fairly active online club where you can get lots of additional info. See below for the link.

Well, I don't own one, but I have been in them several times, and I know a lot about them. They ride very good. It's always smooth and very luxurious for an SUV. Gas mileage is not the best, so I would recommend it as a "pleasure outing" vehicle, and not for everyday use. It does make vacations more comfortable, but you would have to save a lot of cash for gas. Also, just a fun fact about it; The Element was designed by a eleven year old.

hello. i dont actually own one. but i was researching various makes and models. the element is nice but it uses more gas than i thought it should. if i remember correct, it was like 18 mpg city. and the plastic body panels aren't attractive either. i would suggest the scion xb. its purdy and its really good on gas

Maybe look into a nice pontiac aztek while you're looking into ugly vehicles. It's always good to compare vehicles in the same class.

It looks a pretty car. I also heard that honda is one of most Fuel efficient car makers in America.
