First off Zidane is not retarted. And of course it is Materazzi's fault but if you have been reading any of the interviews with Zidane then well you wouldn't have this question up. Zidane said he shouldn't have gone out of control like that but Materazzi shouldn't have insulted his family.

What a funny question. This coming from an AC Milan fan.
But to answer the question, both Materazzi and Zidane should of got booked. Matterazzi for the abuse, and Zidane for the headbutt. Materazzi is the cheapest player in all of Italy.

because zidane screwed up royally and doesn't want to be remembered for that crucial mistake. the only way to get the empasis off him is the shift the blame elsewhere. Also, I don't know why everyone's making a big deal, I've been to games where insults are VERY bad and the players just shrug it off or reply with an EQUALLY negative insult. Considering his past and the fact that its NOT the first time he's reacted this way, its safe to say Zidane has some mental issues to sort out.... I agree that he has issues. By the way, FORZA ITALIA! and way to go Materazzi, you uncovered a HUGE flaw in an otherwise great soccer player.
