Storm chasing is not a thrill-seeking danger sport. It's about seeing nature at its most basic. It is about the beauty of a wind-sculpted supercell, the interaction of forces that can sometimes produce a tornado...and it is not dangerous, as long as you know what you are doing and practice safety rules. I have done three storm-chasing tours with Silver Lining Tours, run by Roger Hill (a very well-known and talented storm chaser), and not once have I ever felt in danger. Sure, we have been pelted by softball-sized hail and been caught in 70-mph winds, and have been witness to awe-inspiring lightning, but I have always felt safe. I am not a danger-seeker, I will never go sky-diving or bungee-jumping, but I do seek out beauty in all its forms. Hot-air ballooning is an example of this...it's peaceful and you get to see the world at sunrise from on high. Storm-chasing is like that. I am not married, but if I were ever to pursue a relationship, it would have to be with someone who shares my fascination with the beauty of nature and who would be right there with me as I went off after storms. People who have no respect for their spouses' interests (or who harbor downright contempt for them) have no business being married...and that goes both ways. How can a long-term meaningful relationship be sustained if one or the other spouse condemns an interest of the other spouse? It's like condemning the person themselves. Maybe go on a chase yourself with your spouse, and then maybe understand their need to do it.

I have often said that in the (highly unlikely) event that I ever get married, I would want it to be in a hot-air balloon. I have been asked "What if that's not what she wants?" and my reply is "She will be the kind of person who will find that perfect, or I wouldn't be marrying her." Maybe that's why I am still single! :)

I've always been fascinated with "storm chasing" and the people that do it. However I don't think I would have gotten together with someone who would actually do this. Daredevils are to be admired but for me not husband material.

was he a storm chaser when you married him? if so there isn't much you can say about it, if this is some new thing i'd wonder what it is that is attracting him to such a dangerous situation and double the life insurance, although they might consider that suicide and not pay
