When I delivered my second son, my doctor asked me and my husband if we were done having children. When we responded yes, he said we needed to be due to my uterus being so thin that my son was trying to break through.
I just found out I am pregnant again... unexpected, but want to go ahead with the pregnancy.
Is it safe?
It has almost been four years since my last section and will be close to five years by the time the baby is delivered. Is this enough time for the uterus to heal and carry another child?
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks.

You're probably going to be categorized as high risk and you'll need to be very careful throughout the entire pregnancy. See a dr, tell him/her your medical history and get a professional opinion.

It really depends on how you healed and unfortunately there is no way to know without actually seeing the uterus. Someone mentioned ultrasound, but ultrasound can not pick up scar tissue so there is no way to see how your scar is doing. I have had 3 c-sections and am pregnant with baby # 4. I have been very fortunate in that I heal very quickly and my scars are thick and don't stretch when I am pregnant. But every woman is different. Talk to your OB about this and they will take care of you. Just don't worry.

That is a really hard question that only a ultrasound can answer. You really won't know with out taking a look. You really need to stay off your feet, and don't do much of anything until you find out. That could turn into deadly consequences for you and the unborn child

You should ask your doctor. I had 4 c-sections and was never cautioned about goin through another pregnancy. Everyone is different but call your doctor right now!!

Yes, you should have had enough time to heal from your previous ceseareans. Congratulations on your new pregnancy.

i would think that 5 years would be safe, but you know, you should ask your ob/gyn just in case. i'm sure they can do an ultrasound to see how you're doing...
