What???
The US stayed out of the war, not wanting anything to do with Germany. It wasn't until the Janpanese bombed Pearl Harbor that we decided to do something, 12/7; sort of like 9/11.

Hell, I've been to Germany and they love Americans. One German I met was a POW; and he got shipped to Louisana to bake cakes for a General.

The only thing I can tell is that maybe there could be some resentment from Japanese Americans who were displaced and had thier property and homes taken because of the origin, but a lot of Americans died, so war is hell. No one really wins.

Many U.S citizens are ignorant of the true antagonists between Japan and the U.S during WW2. We created a situation where we sent supplies to Japans enemies. We antognized them in other ways as well. The U.S. citizens did not want to get involved in WW2. It was a European war and we did not want our boys gong and dieng over seas. So, our great government decided to antagonize Japan in order to create a situation where they would attack us. The government did not know just how bad that attack would be though. They were not prepared for the level of force Japan sent against us and did not let those in command at those bases know either as that would have allowed too many to know how the U.S government was behaving in order to incite an attack on our own shores. The U.S. government KNEW if we wer attacked we would want to attack back and we would demand to go to war, which is ecactly what happened. The government just was not prepared for the extent of the attack and the extent of the losses we sustained. It succeeded though, and that was our governments intention all along.

My father was in WW2 and he was under strick orders of silence for years after the war was over. Their are still things he has to stay silent about. I know everything that our government did to incite Japan against us. There are public records out now which back up what I am saying. Go look for them and you will see the truth of Peal Harbor. You will see we were sending supplies to those who would become our allies in the war. We were suppose to be staying out of it, but we sent food, weapons, medical and other supplies. My father was on the ships that delivered these supplies. We taunted Japan and Germany.

However, war is war and we all do what we need to do on each side. Those who won got to decide who was a war criminal. Thank God we won over hitler though. He was one sick person and would have taken us all down. So, who is to say that what our government did to get our citizens backing for entering the war was right or wrong. We all know if we had not gotten involved the outcome would have been vastly different than it was.

your ignorance is astounding!
Who started the war? Did Germany declare war on the US first or not? What happened at Pearl harbor Dec. 7, 1941? What did the Japenese do to a) allied prisoners of war, b) the citizens of Nanking, and the Philippines?
What about the German treatment of a) POW's b) the citizens of Moscow & Stalingrad? c) how about the HUMAN medical experiments conducted at the camps?
and then there is the organized program of GENOCIDE!
What is wrong with you that you could ask such a stupid , stupid, foolish question?????

Serenity....even if what you say were true and it isn't, what gave Japan the right to do what they did in China? I refer to Nanking? You're talking about the American embargo of oil to Japan......does that give them the right to attack our country? you say we sold weapons to thier enemies.....who? be specific what did we sell and and to whom that pissed them off so much?

They're not the ones who should do the forgiving. After all, it was their fathers and grandfathers who started the war and did some very horrific things. Granted, our side didn't exactly follow conventional warfare all of the time. We did, however, fight as honorably as possible.

The japanese won't forgive us for a long time. It seems to be the general consensus there that they were the victims since we dropped the bombs on them. They were just minding their own business eating sushi and harvesting their rice...
