also if you know people that have gone there you can contribute as well. How is the social atmosphere at Xavier. What is it's reputation like? Are the classes and teachers cool? I'm nervous as ****, but yet I am excited to go to college. Is college really how it's portrayed in the movies or is that all overrated. Also what is the Cincinnati area like, is it dangerous etc., names of fun places to hang out or go? I'm coming from relatively far away, and I know absolutely no one.

I go to the University of Cincinnati which is a few minutes away, but I have several friends at Xavier. We have rival basketball teams, so be sure to go to the Crosstown Shootout. Xavier is a good school. The campus is nice although it it is a rather small. There is a good mix of students, most of whom are awesome. It will be easy to make a lot of friends fast.

Don't be nervous. College is a very fun time, just make sure to balance school, work, and play.

Cincinnati is no more dangerous than any other big city. It has some bad areas, but you probably won't be going to those parts of town. As long as you are aware of your surroundings, you should be fine (aka don't walk around by yourself at 3am with a wad of cash in your hands).

Some fun things to do in Cincy is to attend your schools sporting events, go to the Cincinnati Reds or Bengal games. You could also check out Newport on the Levee for shopping, restaurants, etc. There are some cool stores in the Clifton area. Once you get on campus, just ask other students what else is fun around here.

Most of all, good luck during your college years and don't forget to make the most of them.

I go to the University of Cincinnati, but have friends at Xavier so I get to hang out there a lot. Clifton (where UC is located) doesn't have the best reputation, and Xavier's campus is the same way. Basically, though, if you're smart about it, it won't be a problem at all. Don't wander the streets alone at 3am, lock your doors, just the basics. Do these things and you'll be just fine.
