See, I'm creating my own game, but by the time I finish it, the total file size will exceed well over 700MB - making the use of a basic CD-R disk impossibe. Is it possible to put my game on a DVD-R instead?

The process of burning data files to a DVD is identical to burning data files to a CD, expect you have more space and use put in a blank DVD not a blank CD.

Of course it is but, by doing so, you are limiting access only to those that have DVD players. A better way would be to compress the game once you are finished so that it fits onto one CD or to burn it onto 2 CDs. You won't be playing it from the CD as the response time is too slow.
