I have a lot of band experience( was in marching band, jazz band, concert band, and pep band, and played bass in a garage band) and I've noticed that girls always think drummers are "hott". What is the explanation for this attraction? Why don't guys find girl drummers hott? If someone could explain, I'd appreciate it.

I dated a drummer in high school.....trust me, he wasn't that special. Highly overrated.
cirestan, I take offense to that, although you were probably being very tongue-in-cheek. I was neither ugly nor fat and he was a very attractive man, just not the smartest or kindest.

I am a drummer and I can attest to the attraction since I took my wife (then my date) to a party where my band was playing. She said I looked hot playing my drums. Maybe it's a masculine thing, some kind of tribal instinct.
Of course, the drummers that are not good at all don't look so hot, mostly awkward.

Hey I have been in maybe a dozen different bands as a pro drummer and played everything from country to jazz in all kinds of clubs.But what it seems is being a drummer in a hot,tight top 40 cover band the women are putty in your hand.As long as the band plays their favorite tunes and plays them note for note just like the original,man they fall all over you.Add to it the fact that I did lead vocal on about 50% of our song list,it just couldn't get any better.

Some girls desire guys in bands because they are those bad boy/mysterious/artist types. Even if the guy is ugly, being in a band makes you more disirable. I don't know why they go for a drummer over anyone else. I guess it just does it for them.

I don't know if you'll find a ton of hardcore fans, but I think a lot of girls like the hits. Play You Shook Me All Night Long. You'll be beating them off with a stick.

The drummer is the "bottom" of the music group hierarchy. So they get the girls that all the other members snub. So the ugly and fat girls get the drummer. Since there are more ugle and fat girls than hot girls it makes it seem he gets all the girls.

Because some girls are turned on by being spanked, like the drums. They like a man who can rough it up! As for men, they don't like to be beaten, its not a macho thing.

Girls like guys who hang out with musicians. That's what a drummer is, a guy who hangs out with musicians.

Probably because drumming requires the use of upper body muscles....intense facial expression, tightened fists....all sorta macho things. Not as appealing on a girl...sorry.
