There was Lead contamination at the site of this factory. The factory was closed in 1985. The first link has a report of the cleanup by the EPA.

The UAW doesn't have anything related to Prestolite. I couldn't even tell which local represented that area of Indiana.

I found a note about a study in a file in a Congressman's papers at the site in the second link below. You may be able to write to the Congressman or the Library and ask for a brief of the contents or copies of the contents of the file. It resides at the Center for Archival Collections.

Congressman Thomas L. Ashley founded a legal and congressional consulting firm in Washington, D.C.

If your interest was about possible lead poisoning in the 60's, I suppose you could contact the EPA, make your case and see where they send you. If you get a run around and you feel you have an actionable case, talk to an attorney.
