You're probably anxious about not knowing anyone and what it will be like attending classes. So many other kids will feel exactly the same way, so you're not alone! Try to get involved with groups in your dorm or an activity you're interested in so you meet people. You'll probably attend classes with many other freshmen, so they're in the same boat as you - all will be explained and you can certainly ask the professors/teachers if you have questions.

College is really the best time of your life. Be yourself and try new things. Call home when you need to, but enjoy the time you have to explore the world outside your town. You'll find the time will fly by and years from now you'll wish you were back!

First, play up your nervousness and try to get your parents to buy you a lot of stuff. It gets expensive to buy all the essential dorm/apartment gear. If you are living in a dorm, try to contact your future roomates. That way, when you arrive, you will already know someone. If you think you will get homesick, just remember that you can always use the phone, email, mail, etc. College is enough to keep you busy, so after a week or two, it won't seem that bad.
College isn't as scary as it seems. Yes there is probably going to be more work than highschool, but it really isn't too much harder.
Good luck, I hope you have a lot of fun!

You can't. Everyone does feel nervousness about entering college. When I went away to college, I moved 300 miles away from home by myselft, just as many others have. You will get used to it, and college is great! Make the most of it, study hard, and have fun!

I don't think you really can. Being nervous about starting in an all new environment is normal. Just remember that it is an incredible opportunity to branch out and meet new friends. You'll have a blast, I promise.

Think about all the fun you'll have on your own without someone telling you that you should'nt, or being home at a certain time, being able to make your own decisions for yourself.

Just go and stop worrying about it. And forget about the compulsion to conform to what others are doing. Then you can concentrate on studying to make something out of your life.

Think of it like highschool, only with the freedom from mom & dad, and not being pestered by siblings.
