I'm sorry to tell you, but none of them work. I tried everything. I drank Castor oil. I rubbed it on my belly. I tried nipple stimulation. I tried putting Evening Primrose Oil on my cervix. I tried intercourse. You name it, I tried it, and with both kids, too (you'd think I would have learned the first time). That baby won't come out until it wants to. Although you have a right to wait until 42 weeks before being induced. Being induced does make labor more painful; I know from experience. So if you'd rather have more time to see if it will happen naturally, make your feelings known to your doctor. Good luck!

Do not use cod liver oil as someone else suggested!!! That's a really bad idea. The best thing for you to do is walk and try to Relax. I've had my labor stop because I was so wound up. The baby will come when it's time.If nothing seems to work don't worry about it ..being induced isn't a bad thing. I've had labor induced before and it was no different than my labor with my other three children.

Wait.
Normal gestation is 40 weeks, so I think you may be jumping the gun, here. Barring complications, your baby will be born when IT'S ready, and that's the best way. It is the baby's scheule, after all, no matter what the doctor thinks. However, you could always try making an appointment for a really expensive concert you truly want to attend--worked for my best friend!

evening Primrose Oil. I used one as a pessary and 2 orally on a daily basis. i became into dilated 3cm as quickly as I went in for induction. If i might been waiting to attend slightly longer I reckon i might have long previous into labour every time, yet could no longer wait as I had PE :( i do no longer think of any abode remedies will artwork except your toddler is able to make his or her visual allure, and that i'd possibly not at all do something drastic to attempt and initiate labour. yet issues like strolling, having intercourse, eating a exceedingly spiced curry won't do any harm. FYI, the prostaglandins in semen are curiously greater effective if ingested, in case you recognize what I propose, lol. solid success with the VBAC!

It is true, sex is the best way to induce labor. Semen actually has a chemical in it that softens the cervex. Which is why they tell women experiencing early contractions not to have sex.
Also, an enima is a great way to jump start as well, but not nearly as pleasent.

Ok, Here are a few:
a Warm, not Hot Bath
Sex, because it can start uterine contractions
Long walk
ry vaccuuming and walking up stairs and such, it will help.
Don't try castor oil like some internet sites suggest: it causes major intestinal cramping and diarrhea, feels like labor, but it's actually gas pains. Not fun.

Nipple Stimulation. This is not a joke. This is something used everywhere. You can also get a pedicure or a massage from a prenatal spa. You can make love with your spouse. You can also try cod liver oil

WALK, WALK, WADDLE! All over the place. Let gravity play it's part. Walking in a swimming pool is real good too. It takes the stress off of your back and knees.
Congrads! God Bless! and Good Luck!
