what about people who tried to be safe? nothing is foolproof (except abstinance). and just because someone had sex doesnt make them a bad person! it takes two, so why doesnt the woman always get looked down apon? and why should that woman be forced to carry a baby that NEITHER person wants to full term just so someone else can adopt it, where there are already THOUSANDS of children in the system not getting adopted? having a baby is a lot of money and a lot of stress (on the body and mind) and it isnt fair that all of these religious fanatics are trying to force their views and opinions on everyone, even if they dont agree.
why cant we just agree to disagree, and if you want/need an abortion, get one, and if you're against it, DONT?! why take a right away from someone just because someone else doesnt agree?

i'll even add personal detail to this question. i got pregnant once. i was 16, had been dating my boyfriend for about a year. we had sex. i was on the pill and we used a condom (he had had other partners, but he was my first). condom broke, pill didnt work. i made the choice to have an abortion instead of having to drop out of highschool (they will not let you stay at the school i went to as soon as you start showing, or if too many people know you're pregnant). my boyfriend didnt want the kid. i wasnt about to throw away my chance at finishing school and having a career. i made a choice. he wouldnt help me, even emotionally. i didnt have the money to carry the baby (not that i wanted to) but i did have the $300 and a forged letter of concent from my father saying i could have the abortion. my family never found out. its a decision i've had to live with since (9 years now). honestly, i think if i had been forced to keep the baby i would have killed myself.

but it was my mistake to deal with. i wasnt using an abortion as birth control, it was as a last resort. and i dont think its fair the way people are treated just because they made the same decision. its not like most people who have abortions are running around getting them weekly or something

I certainly do not judge or label a woman who has an abortion, because sometimes it is a much KINDER thing to do than to bring an unhealthy or unwanted baby into the world. I can cite several instances...one involving rape, and two involving the health of the mother and the fetus where abortions were called for. Its NO ONES business, certainly not any church's, to judge what another person does, so I just continue to live and let live.

The argument is that you weren't suppose to be having sex in the first place, so even if you didn't get the abortion you are still a whore,
and what about the babies rights.
No one cares about the real issues that lead to abortions. No one wants to deal with them. They just want a quick fix to make the problems associated with it go away. But they are not going to go away.
However I do have this opinion that if your man tried to do everything right and you also tried to do everything right - you were so educated and aware and safe and your still got pregnant, god/fate/karma/whatever you believe in is trying to tell you a message.
The odds of that happening are staggering. If you got pregnant for being too safe you might as well keep the kid because if you have a mind capable of being aware and responsible with birth control, you probably can be trusted with a child.

Why is it nobody goes to the dictionary to find a definition on the situation ,but instead just spew some word they heard before? Could it be thet much like you their body language skills are dulled by the pain they feel? Many do not know the meaning of whore, judging, or distress because they refuse to look in the dictionary! Had they attempted it thy would have passed over words like compassion, love, discernment. These words too are found in the BIBLE...sometimes called the book of Life. Abortion only cheapens life. Decisions have consequences. Pregnacy is just 9 months! Love is Forever and Abstinence is a Virtue! Build your character wisely!!

Ok, now picture this, you sit down square on the center line of a busy street. If you are sitting in just the right position, you will not get hit by a car. But if you're off a little bit, WHAMMO! Now, do you blame the cars because you were dumb enough to play in traffic. Ignoring the risks, and possible repurcussions, to your actions is just plain irresponsible. Aside from the religious arguments, plain logic shows that once the cells start dividing and have a unique DNA from yours, it is a life.

I wouldn't call her a whore, sex being a natural and wonderful thing, and I doooooooo mean wonderful. However, you can try to be as safe as you wish, yet nothing is totally safe. That DOSE NOT give any one the "right" to shirk being responsible for there actions. Pregnancy being a natural out come of sex,it should be accepted by the participants that you may have a price to pay for your pleasure. In other words, just because you dint want a baby doesn't give you the right to end its life pre maturely, afterall, you took the risk knowing that it was a possible after effect.

Although I don't agree with having abortions ( not for religious reasons either because first nations had ways of aborting, too), I do agree with you and that people should have that right. I hate the fact a church next door to us has put up a stone which is inscribed with " In memory of all the unborn" then has a date when abortion started with a dash after it and then present. It degrades my rights a person in the United States of America to have to look at this stone daily and my father wants us to put up a stone in our front yard when he passes (to piss off the church) stating that he lived there from 1943 to and that he was born 1937--Let the dead RIP and Let us be able to choose that right.

I don't refer to people that have had abortion as whores. I feel that there are too many females (both young and old) that use abortion as a means of birth control. There are thousands of children waiting to be adopted, but that does not justify killing/terminating/murdering a child that DID NOT ASK TO COME HERE. People should be more cautious when having sex if they don't want children. There are other means of birth control.

She is not a whore. However, using abortion as a form of contraception is wrong. If she is woman enough to choose to be in a sexual relationship she should be woman enough to choose not to have sex if she (and her partner) are not adequately protected.
I am not a pro-lifer, I am just a realist. I would never counsel anyone to have an abortion, but I do believe it is a medical procedure that should not be used because a woman decided to risk creating a life and now changes her mind.
With the proliferation of means of contraception, and the proliferation of social diseases, not using protection is outright irresponsible.

a baby isn't a burden...its a blessing. abortion is murder...you're killing an innocent life. i myself am 100% pro-life(anti-abortion, birth control, euthanasia, 7 death penalty), & a catholic, but i'm not a "religious fanatic" and i wouldn't label you a whore(i mean, idk how you got pregnant...you could've been raped & thats not your fault). i don't believe that taking a life(whether innocent or not) is right. my mother had an abortion after having"safe sex" & getting pregnant(the condom broke). she regretted it...she now suffers from depression & has even attempted suicide. trust me...having an abortion is more traumatizing than having a baby. & yeah, it is expensive to have a baby(but you should've thought about that before you had that moment of pleasure)
to answer the ? as to why it is that the woman gets blamed for getting pregnant(it called a double-standard...this is 2006, they're everywhere...get used to it)
why can't we just agree to disagree? that's what america was based on...dissent

people don't know the half of their story. they see the belly and the young face and go eww. in america children have having sex and doing what they like to kill time and its ok until something happens like STDs AIDs and pregnancy. Then they are labelled when it could happen to anyone. They are even labelled by the people that are doing the same thing.
We have the Global Gag Rule which limits funding to countries where they can't get comdoms and birth control. We can bearly figure out what we want to do with our abortion laws and then we go and limit other people. Crazy ****!
