I mean, he wouldn't even be president, really. All mormons are rigorously trained from early childhood to obey without question any and every order or suggestion coming from the 'brethren', which is the top 15 men in the church. The big decisions would be made here, in Salt Lake City!

As a resident of Salt Lake, i agree that the LDS members have a very strong influence in our local government. Just imagine if everyone got 10% taken out of their checks every two weeks or whatever the duration of pay...not to say that'll happen...but in the perfect LDS world it would. We'll have a woman be the president before a Mormon i believe. God (or whoever/whatever) help us all.

I don't know a whole lot about him, but it is ridiculous to suggest that he is little more than a drone simply because he is Mormon. The same discrimination was prevalent against Catholics, and JFK was attacked over his religion the same way. You are only fueling an unsubstantiated fear of Mormons. If that was a common problem with Mormons, that would be one thing, but it is not.

I am a Dem from Ma and actually like Romney. He has improved our state since becoming govenor and has passed some important legislation, like limiting the number of patients a nurse is responsible for, and is working on health care reform. President though? Don't think it will happen.

I have reservations...I'm not sure it would be a disaster, but I do have reservations. The religious fringe of the Republican party has slowly moved to center stage and I am concerned of what a true Rapture Righty might try to impose upon this country.

Well, let me just say that it would be some big shoes to fill if we were basing it on disastrous presidents.
