The essential difference is that inner beauty is not easily masked; it is effusive and can be observed through any exterior.
Beauty of the face CAN be destroyed by slathering on horrible makeup, which makes the bearer MUCH less attractive.

beauty from the face only attracts people at first. You have to have some type of outer and inner beauty for people to truly love you. After they really love you, they wont care whatever happens to your face or body. You need it both at the beggining but at the end, it's just your personality that counts.

Pretty counts for something. There can be no denying that. But I have to agree. A good friend or a soul mate need not posess that phyiscal beauty sought after by shallower people.
But, since I didn't see it posted yet, I gotta get this joke out.
Beauty is only skin deep, but ugly goes down to the bone.

Both, to people with dignity, it means what's in your heart. You can look at it both ways. Hot guys, who get girls all the time and very easily, look only for a pretty face. Ugly guys who don't get that many chiks look for what's in your heart. But you don't see too many of those around these days. I would like to answer this question with what the answer SHOULD be, like "True beauty comes from the heart" but unfortunatly, I must answer with "You better look twice as good as the chick standing next to you if you wanna rock your guy's world"

Inner beauty is much more important and has alot higher value that just outward beauty. Many people can make themselves look "pretty", but finding someone with a good heart, values and personality is much harder to find and valued alot.
