No. Arena did a wonderful job over the past 8 years. The play of the US team improved over his reign, and did not faulter until the World Cup.
What happened in Germany was the fault of the players, and the political climate, which they allowed to effect their play.
They were in one of the most difficult 1st round groups to begin with, and no one expected Ghana to be as good as they were.
The US team has come a long way, but they are still far from world beaters. The number of truly world class players on the team is lacking, the only one I'd put in that catagory is Keller.
Eddie Johnson showed some potential in the late qualifying game, but his form has dropped after a injury and family problem distracted him from the game.
Donovan and Beasley are good, solid players, who, when they play their best are offensive threats, but are being played as midfielders. Midfield requireds you to go back and defend as well as play offense, and while Beasley tries, I can't recall Donovan making any attempts to do so.
I might not object to the dropping of Arena if there was a better coach waiting in the wings, but so far I haven't seen one.

doesn't matter. USA will always suck even if they get the best coach they will still suck. USA should just stick with football and stop trying to act like soccer posers cuz its getting on my god damn nerves. VIVA MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Oh my Christ yes! I never want to see his corpulent face again. Monumental lapses in judgment and strategy. Completely aggravating.

doesnt matter to me...i say the coach is only as good as its players. and the US players just suck. if they get a better coach i dont think it will make much of a difference.
