1. Pendragon,....haven't heard of it.

2. The lord of the rings...I read the first one, and it's good in some parts, but towrads the end I felt like I was going to die of boredom because of all the description. So I haven't read the other two. If you like description, then go for it.

3. The hobbit...I read this, and I really did like it. A bit more fast moving then the lotr, but still a little bit more description than I like. This I would reccomend.

4. The chronicles of narnia.....YES!! These are my favprite books, I actually cried when I finished them becuase I didn't want them to end. C.S. Lewis does a neat job putting just enough description, but leaving the rest to your imagination. I loooved them because they're fast moving, and I loooove fantasy, which is what this is. Oh,and if you're going to reead these, start with the nephew's magician, then the lion the witch and the wardrobe, then the horse and his boy, then prince caspian, then the voyage of the dawn treader, the silver chair, and lastly, the last battle. They were published in a different order, but the actual story follows the order I just wrote.

5. Inkspell, I'm not sure about. I haven't read it.

Hope it wasn't too long for you, and good luck choosing! Just click on my avatar or name to contact me with anything you'd like to know. ie; more reccomendations, more info on books, whatever.

I've only read three of your five books/series listed.

The Chronicles of Narnia is 7 books...and you could try reading the first book and see if it's something you want to read more of. I recommend starting with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe despite the fact that they've changed the marketing so that The Magician's Nephew comes first. I think the whole series will mean more if Lion, Witch, etc. is read first. (In fact I'd suggest reading in this order Prince Caspian, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, Silver Chair, Horse & His Boy, Magician's Nephew, & Last Battle). If you don't like the first book, you probably wouldn't want to commit yourself to the rest of the series...

The Hobbit I would suggest reading before LOTR, but you already know that of course. It is written in a different style than the other books. It is a smaller book, more straightforward and not so weighted down with poetry. Overall, a nice short adventure quest story.

Lord of the Rings is a very long book. For me, it had parts of excellence--I loved it--and parts where I was very very bored and annoyed with the dullness of the pace. The book reads in sections. At least the second books read in sections. You'll read all of the story about Aragorn & Legalos & rest of the party doing the main action fighting, & whatnot....and then they'll be a whole section of nothing but Frodo & Sam. The movie blended these together...the book doesn't. So if you care mostly for the arrow-shooting Legalos or the handsome Aragorn sword-fighting the bad guys...then you'll have some very boring parts to wade through. Also unlike the movie...there is almost no romance whatsoever...so don't expect their to be tender passages of lovers torn apart and sweeping love poems to one another. That's not this book.

I would only suggest The Lord of the Rings if you wouldn't mind reading a lot. Each of those books is like 300-400 pages so you have about 1000 pages to read this summer. You might want to start reading soon. I only read one of the books from the Chronicles of Narnia and I can't remember which one, so I can't help you there. Hope I helped at least some.

1) The Chronicles of Narnia. They were a great read and they're also a long series, although some may find it too childish.

2) Anything by Dan Brown. His books have a wonderful suspenseful quality and you learn a lot from them.
