Hmmm.... must be user error.

Actually, there's a great deal of jealousy usually. I mean think about it... who really enjoys being wrong all the time?

Some people that are highly intelligent individuals struggle with common sense issues in their lives. Their minds work like a steel trap and can analize almost anything, but when it comes to common sense stuff, they are often left with the sense of not knowing how to deal and or handle this problem correctly.

I see this a lot within my own family members. I consider myself fairly intelligent, but not as intelligent as my siblings and nieces and nephews are. They struggle with this problem of common sense thinking on a regular basis. I suspect that there are many human beings that have this problem.

What about you? Why does your high intelligence make your life so difficult?

High intelligence or lack of ignorance?

Being smart doesn't make your life harder, but being knowledgeable about all areas of society does.

Knowing a lot of everything in society should bother you because you can see the major flaws in society that no one can change/willing to change. You can see, for example, in the US, how the media basically only makes republicans mad at democrats and vice versa. The media (whether you think it's liberal or not) really is only getting people against one another, while important issues become stagnant, in terms of solving them, because the population is too busy fighting against one another.

There are many good answers in here...
First, I am one of those "know it all"...
People call me for any darn questions on any darn subjects, and it's ok as long as the question is not an idiocy. The people who hate "know it alls" are the ones who are not, and thank you very much for proving it.
What makes it hard to live in a stupid world when you're smart is living with stupid people... For example: There should be a red zone painted on the floor, on top of the escalators to signify that you can't stay there because there's a full load of people who's gonna bump you right outta there, who can't stop... You can't stay in front of doors, can't stop to talk on the sidewalk, find another spot, can't honk your horn on a trip down the street because your team won, stupidest thing you can do: waste of gas (therefore polluting) isn't it expensive enough? plus, you make a lot of people want to kick your a**...etc.
You can't headbutt another player in the heart because he said your mom's a hooker... Who fuc**** cares? You idiot, you just ruined years of hard work... Marriage, religion, violence, mega sizing fatty foods, beating children, drunk driving, drugs... And so on, and so on, and so on...

I can't deal with that level of crazyness, it's way over the top. I go down to the street, and within 3 minutes, I will find someone who does something stupid or illegal.
A friend of mine told me "You're too self concious!"
No way in my entire life would I ever think there's such a thing as being too self concious... Look at the people who go on Dr. Phil, once they see themselves acting stupid, then they change... That's like one in a million, that won't changes the others who think "Hum, what an idiot" but turn around and do the same... Like the Dateline Internet Predator series... They all watch it but that's not them...
What a world, I have no idea why was I put in here, can't wait to die, so I can stop feeling like I'm the only one who's brain functions normally.

Difficult for people with high intellects to :
1. Take the time to find compassion
2. Have patients with people with out the gift.
3. Communicate because of the thinking level.
4. They are simply many times unable to express themselves for fear that no one will understand.

sorry but someone with a truly high intelligence would not perceive life as difficult: that is only a crutch for a weak mind dependent on images for security and self-importance

We tend to stereotype intelligent people. And the stereotype is *dun dun dun...* "Intelligent people are know it all's and are annoying."

For that matter... it makes it harder for somebody with intelligence to have a simple life. Plus it seems like people that are intelligent to the extremes seriously have no life, no fun, and they tend to challenge people and that is definately not the way to make friends, is it now ?

Perhaps intimidation?

I read a book a about something like that. You always succeed at everything you try, and and you're barely ever wrong about anything. Everyone around you gets jealous becasue i guess it gives them the feeling of not being good enough especially when they are in your presence and you're being complimented for your most recent achievement. You always do better than everyone else intellectually and i guess after a while, it just gets to them and they feel like there nothing that they can do better than you .

Because you are forced to recognize and perceive problems and failures that the average person wouldn't even realize exist. Instead of simply bitching about problems and people you think of solutions that would actually help but you become frustrated because most normal people are content with bitching. Complacency is the bain of intelligence.

because along with high intelligence and book smart you really need to be socially smart as well to interact with society. Good people skills make up for alot of "i dont know" If i had to choose i would rather be smart but intelligent with people rather then outcast and hard to inergrate with people and have my head in a book.

Because everything is made for the so-called "average" person. Furniture, cars, books, computers, schools, buildings, doorways, windows, clothes, shoes, etc. If you are far smarter than most people around you, you don't fit in, and you become an oddity. The further you deviate from the average, the harder life will be for you. Ask me!
