I don't think the deal will happen, but I think it would work perfectly. KG is a superstar, but watching his career, I realize that he is a superstar role player. He doesn't like to take the big shots that end games. This past season, I watched a game where the T-Wolves were going back and forth with the opponent. KG took 2 shots in the entire 4th period. He was content to watch Blount, Banks, and Davis take all the meaningful shots. I think Kobe and KG would be perfect compliments to one another b/c KG is only a three period player and if he'll defer to Ricky Davis, I'm sure he'll defer to Kobe. Kobe, KG, and Odom would give the Lakers three real offensive threats that other teams would have to focus on, and the addition of KG would only boost the defense.

Not gonna happen. This has already been stated but if Garnett comes, Odom is leaving in the trade package, that's a given. But more than that, Kobe won't share the spotlight. He wants to be the only star. Why else do you think Phil and Shaq left? I honestly think Phil shouldn't have come back...but whatever.

1. Kobe and KG will NEVER work, at a basketball standpoint.
2. Are the Lakers ready to write huge paychecks?
3. If Garnett goes to LA, Odom will be one of the players in included in the trade, so there will be no such thing as Kobe+KG+Odom.

I can't see them keeping Lamar or KG on the perimeter the whole time. Kobe might be able to get along with KG as long as he's still leading scorer
Also, even if LA manages to get to the finals, I don't think Miami's going to win another championship so I can't see a big Shaq vs. Kobe NBA Final any time soon
And I don't quite get the "only guard to win a championship" thing?

Only guard to win a championship? What are you talking about? He's got KG with him....
And also, I don't see how this trade could work without the Lakers giving up Lamar Odom.

It's probably more like:
Kobe Bryant PLUS Kevin Garnett MINUS Lamar Odom PLUS Phil= Championship
Odom's had too many drug problems in his life, if I was an owner, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my team. I don't care what anyone says about his getting over it. When it comes to athletes, once a druggie, always a druggie.

I think you're assuming an awful lot in thinking the Lakers and/or Heat will be in the NBA Finals next season.
Remember 2004? Dream team for the Lakers ... Piston's only failed to sweep due to an overtime loss at L.A.
I love Garnett, but he's aging ... and Kobe is overly egocentric.

Ben Wallace with the Bulls, now Garnett with the Lakers. Meanwhile, I'm a Knicks fan. If I were a Lakers fan, I'd definitely expect a championship this year.

The Lakers do not favor Kevin Garnett. All they favor is Kobe Bryant's recreation to regulate. He ought to favor to make his teamates extra in touch and Kevin Garnett is in simple terms messing up the chemistry and that what surpassed off to them in the 04 Finals hostile to Detroit. playstation : Kobe seriously is not like Michael Jordan and the Lakers' glory is in basic terms a reminiscence Sasan.
