I personally wouldn't but I have heard of a lot of people (career minded that is) that do do this sort of thing. I think you would be missing out on an awful lot though and could quite possibly risk your relationship with your wife/husband because of the distance and time. It would have to be something that is thought over very carefully and discussed with the family in order to decide.
I'de be homesick all the time and constantly wondering what was going on back at home.....

Jobs are one of the 5 top things couples will argue about. While some wives can handle their husbands working away from them, some can't especially those with children. While the husband is gone, all the responsibilty falls on the wives and they are known to resent their husbands for not being there when they need them the most.

a hwole year... i wouldnt take it. neither one of you would be able to dstand not seeing eachother. unless you could see eachother like twice or once a month.

at my age, it would not be a issue. my child is grown and my wife has passed, so i would go.
